The Sasquatch Hunter's Almanac

The Sasquatch Hunter's Almanac

Sharma Shields's "The Sasquatch Hunter's Almanac: A Novel" is a quirky, eccentric, perfectly unique work unlike anything I have ever read. The story flowed well and I did like the author's rather homespun dialogue. The story itself was quite peculiar (and rather engrossing), as was the novel's end, which I do not want to give away. When it comes right down to it, I cannot think of any one word that describes this work as a whole, except for maybe 'unique'.
Though I found many of the aspects of the novel to be rather bizarre, it was also strangely enjoyable. At times I almost sympathized with Eli, at other times I thought him obsessive/compulsive. I cannot quite explain it, but I would not hesitate to read more of Ms. Shields's works in the future.
